YSL Runway Evening Dress, Fall-Winter 1979-1980

In 1977, Yves Saint Laurent dedicated his Fall-Winter couture collection, "Les Chinoises" to Imperial China. The country was a great source of inspiration for YSL. The same Chinese influence is seen in YSL's 1979-1980 ready-to-wear collection. This rare dress from the 1979-1980 collection is constructed in satin silk with a beautiful black and purple chrysanthemum pattern and features a Mandarin collar of the traditional "cheongsam" design. The stunning piece fastens with 10 faceted black buttons down the front and a refined, oversized purple and black fringe tassel. Fully lined. Excellent Vintage Condition.
